Niloufer Hospital at a Glance

Niloufer Hospital

Niloufer hospital for women and children was conceived by the altruism and generosity of Princess Niloufer, the second daughter-in-law of the last king of the erstwhile Hyderabad State, Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan.

Her vision was executed through the Hyderabad Women & Children‘s Medical Aid Society by luminaries like Ms.Padmaja Naidu and Nawab Zain Yar Zung. The Hospital was inaugurated by Raj Kumari Amrit Kaur on 31st March 1953 and started functioning from 15th August 1953 with 50 children and 50 Maternity beds. The institution through the 50 years blazed a Golden trail of Service & Medical education and stood as an epitome of health care for the poor and underprivileged children.

This is the only premier institute of child health functioning under the aegis of Government of Andhra Pradesh with the motto to care for the child from intra-uterine life to childhood. The 500+250 bedded hospital with an occupancy of 150% to 200% has an out-patient turnover of 2 lakh per annum and in-patient admissions of 40,000 every year.
